Plants can be classified into three types: grasses , bushes and  trees . Grasses  have a  soft stem . They are (usually)  short ,  thin  and  flexible . Bushes  have a thick,  hard stem . They have  low branches . Trees  have one thick,  hard stem  called a  trunk .
